Meat Crust Mac & Cheese



Mac & Cheese is such a staple comfort food, please adjust the way you like it!
This recipe will feed 8 to 10 adults no problem, and a herd of little kids! All these ingredients cost $28, but you can make it even cheaper if you buy only cheddar and no Italian sausage meat.
4 cups dry macaroni pasta
2 lb ground beef
1 lb ground spicy Italian sausage meat
1 large onion, chopped small
1 zucchini, grated
1 head of broccoli, chopped in small pieces
3 medium tomatoes, diced
2 cups tomato sauce
1/2 bunch of parsley, chopped fine
2 tbsp dry oregano
2 tbsp dry basil
Enough black pepper and sea salt
300g Gouda, grated
400g Mozzarella, grated
350g Cheddar, grated
Cook your 4 cups of macaroni until they are still a bit crunchy. (do not over cook then because they will be going back into the oven for a long time)

Mix your meat together with some salt and pepper and place it in your pan like you would for a pie except it is a meat crust.

Mix together your cooked pasta with the cooked onions, 3 cheeses, tomato sauce, dry spices, vegetables, salt and pepper. Place your pasta mixture on top of your raw meat crust.

Add some more cheese on top if you wish and bake at 375F for about 1 hour 20 to 30 minutes or so depending on the shape of your pan.
