Sweet and Sour meat balls



1 can pineapple chunks
1 cup white vinegar
cup ketchup
2/3 cup tomato sauce
1 cup brown sugar
cup water
2 tbsp ginger powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp cayenne
1 tsp anise seeds or star anise
1 red onion
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 jalapeno
3 cloves garlic
1 small piece of fresh ginger

2lb Ground beef
1 tbsp ginger and garlic powder
Salt and pepper
3 tbsp brown sugar

Meat balls:
In a large enough bowl, mix ground beef, 1 tbsp ginger powder, 3 tbsp brown sugar, salt and pepper into small meat balls.
Place your meat balls on a tray to cook them in the oven at 400F for about 20 minutes or pan fry them until fully cooked.

Sweet & Sour Sauce:
Cook your onions, peppers, jalapeno, garlic and ginger until soft.
Add all the other sauce ingredients bring to a boil and add your meat balls.
Let simmer at low heat for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on how hungry you are!

** This is very much how my mom would do sweet and sour meat balls at home when I was a kid.
