"To barbecue" means to slow-cook foods at a low temperature for a long time with wood or charcoal.

"To grill" means to cook foods over direct heat and cook it much faster than barbecue with gas, wood or charcoal.

Cheaters Winter BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich

Although it's much nicer smoked for 10 hours, no need to smoke the meat in this recipe, just cook it low and slow in your slow cooker!

2-3 pound boneless pork roast from the butt section.

1 onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 TBSP dark chili powder
1 TSBP smoke paprika
a touch of salt & black pepper
5 cup of your favorite BBQ Sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

** Reserve 4 cups of your favorite finishing BBQ sauce to assemble the sandwiches at the end.

Nothing stops you from starting the roast on your grill for 30 minutes or so, than put it in the slow cooker for extra flavors. Put all the rest of the ingredients in a slow cooker and stir around a bit to coat the pork.

A good slow cooker will cook the meat in 4 to 6 hours. Watch for a super tender texture which should happen around 200F internal temperature. Then you shred it with a fork and let it cook another half hour in the cooking sauce. It should be eaten on a cheap white bun topped with coleslaw with your favorite finishing BBQ sauce oozing off the sides. Not exactly your first date kind of meal if you know what I mean.
