Okanagan Wedding Location Resources
Okanagan wedding locations can vary a fair bit depending on what is your dream wedding. I specialize in outdoor barbecue weddings so the venue or location is often something a bit less conventional like a yard/house, vineyard, orchard or even campground.
After 13 years of doing weddings all over the the Okanagan Valley(Merritt, Salmon Arm, Oliver, Vernon, Penticton, Summerland, and Kelowna) I have been to a few locations and I have highlighted some of my favorites with stars below. No matter which location you choose for your wedding, I can go anywhere for your dream wedding...

Things to remember when choosing your wedding location or venue:
Don't forget about getting a permits for serving drinks and post it so it is visable
Do they supply the plates, glasses, tables, chairs etc...?
Who will meet your caterer to unluck the door?
Is there a kitchen for the caterer to use at your venue?
Is there enough chairs at that location?
Is there a parking spot near the entrance for deliveries and/or caterer?
Any Okanagan wedding locations you choose will have washrooms, but to add a little girly things to decorate may make them look a bit less like a church hall or a school...
Who will sign and receive the equipment from the wedding rental company?
Keep the bar area away from the food area if at all possible to avoid traffic jams near the cooking/serving area.
Think of a space to hide ugly things like dish racks, dirty dishes, empty boxes, etc? so that it does not become the background of every picture in your photo album or video.
An Okanagan Outdoor weddings can be a lot of fun, but make sure all tents and/or possible flying objects are secured down to the ground. Hiring professional is probably a good idea for this...
Especially if you are a foodie, remember to ask your photographer to take pictures of the buffet or plates of food, these may be the only food wedding pictures you turn out to have at the end.
It does rain once in while in the Okanagan, so be prepared. Salad floats, but salmon doesn't.
Remember, cigarette smokers outside can be as annoying as inside, plan for an area for those crazy people to go...
Don't get discouraged, once you have visited two or three locations for your Okanagan wedding, you will be in better position to decide. I think the Okanagan has so much to offer visually you should be able to have your photographer find a couple nice spots to take fun pictures.
